Manchester City Challenge is a sports space and museum located in the Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi. It is an initiative of the Manchester City Football Club and spans two floors: the first floor is a store, and the second floor houses all the interactive activities.
The entire experience is centered around personalizing the games through the use of an NFC bracelet. The bracelet activates the games and records the scores in the various challenges. At the end, the user receives a personalized card with their attributes and achievements.
In this project, I developed the following interactive games: reflexes, agility, jumping, speed, accuracy, final experience, and personalized card creation. Each game used different types of sensors and systems that I had to integrate during development, along with the NFC technology.
Transformarium is a children’s museum designed to promote recycling located in Sintra, Portugal. The experience uses tablets with augmented reality to guide children through the different activities.
For this project, I developed a tablet app that serves as an interactive guide. In it, children can track which activities they’ve completed and which ones are left to finish the tour.
Using the camera and augmented reality (AR), the app is capable of activating video mappings with educational content, answering quizzes and triggering a photo booth to receive a final diploma. Additionally, in two of the activities, the app is also used for traditional augmented reality, where two 3D models are integrated into the museum space.
FIFA 211 is an complex interactive installation I programmed for the FIFA Museum in Zurich. It is a quiz for five players, consisting of five touch screens and a central projection.
The game features 211 questions about the countries that are members of FIFA. In the center, a globe is projected, providing feedback to the players, with the countries highlighted in the color of the winner of each question.
